the participants involved across the different conditions. It could include one group or more than one.
For example:
“Undergraduate students”
“Adults over 65 with a low level of education”
“Refugees and non-refugee migrants”
If it’s a representative sample it could be as general as,
“Adults in the UK”
“Adults in the USA”
